2002
  • Establishment of the Interim Implementation Committee (IIC) constituting the highest decision-making instance for the network. Composed of trained researchers, today this committee is now called the Governing Board and holds an executive role, and administrative and support, including, approval of budget expenditure.
  • Adoption of the Charter

2003
  • (October) First General Meeting of RRSPQ in Drummondville, Quebec. Adoption of strategic objectives and priorities of RRSPQ.
  • The following themes are identified as priorities for action:
    • Databases
    • Longitudinal Studies
    • Geomatics
    • Social Inequality
    • Sharing and use of knowledge
    • World Health
    • Care and Primary Care
    • Support for the theoretical population health
    • Support for methodological developments

2004
  • Implementation of the strategic programs of the axes.
  • Axes Supporting theoretical population health and Support to the methodological developments are removed from the lineup.
  • Filing of the initial application for renewal 2004-2009 (hyperlink to the document). The RRSPQ obtains a score of 4.5 / 5.0 and is listed first amongst the six networks submitting an application in the competition. Despite a funding target of $1M determined by the FRSQ, the network is funded only $500K/year.

2006
  • All activities of Geomatics grind to a stop.
  • The work of the Database and Longitudinal studies axes are put on hold because of methodological and administrative difficulties over the access to data.

2009
  • Deposit of the second renewal request to the FRSQ 2009-2013. Once again, the Network receives the top score in the networks' competition with a score of 4.5 / 5.0.
The RRSPQ requests funding of $ 1M per year. Given the context of budgetary restraint in which Quebec is immersed, the RRSPQ gets only half the budget requested, i.e. $550K/year.
  • Two new strategic priorities are created: Ethics and Public Health, New Information Technologies.
  • Axes with positive results are consolidated: Social Inequalities in Health and Life Course, Sharing and Using Knowledge, Global Health, Primary Health Care; CELAD (Consortium for the exploitation of longitudinal administrative databases).
