While the Syrian refugee crisis stole the media spotlight in 2015, many other ongoing international crisis earned less or little attention in world news circles. 

Isabelle Sauriol-Nadeau examines which factors may have contributed to such disparities by comparing 6 ongoing conflicts, including those occurring in South Sudan, Yemen, Lake Chad Basin (Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon), Burundi, Ukraine, and Syria.
