Appels à communication Toronto, CMHA Mental Health for All Conference: Connection Interrupted: Restoring Mental Health in a Fractured World

Submit your papers, presentations and your posters because we are reconnectingin Toronto, Ontario, for the next CMHA Mental Health for All Conference, September 23-25, 2019.

This year’s conference theme is Connection Interrupted: Restoring Mental Health in a Fractured World. In an increasingly technologically connected world, we find ourselves more disconnected than ever before – from land, from family, from self, from community. With depression predicted by the World Health Organization (WHO) to be the leading cause of disease worldwide by 2020, looming climate change and growing economic inequalities, how do we ensure psychologically safe spaces that foster well-being?

In the face of future uncertainty, maybe the answer is not reinventing our society, but in reconnecting with what has long been known to be true. By respecting and reviving ancient knowledges and Indigenous wisdom that outlines how hope, purpose, belonging and meaning are essential to a thriving populace. And, by exploring how human connection and community bonds build the strength that makes us resilient in turbulent times. Not just for the 1 in 5 who experience mental illness or a mental health issue in any given year, but for the 5 in 5 of us who have mental health.

As we band together to restore mental health in this fractured world, we seek your ideas, your best practices and your experiences. So, let’s connect, look back and think ahead. Let’s shore up everyone’s mental health for the world to come.
