Webinaires Centre de collaboration nationale de la santé autochtone (CCNSA) - Pathways to Indigenous health - What if everything you thought you knew about the Métis was wrong?

In the second webinar in this series, Dr. Chris Andersen, Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Native Studies at the University of Alberta, presents contemporary narratives on the history and origins of the Métis Nation and Métis peoples in Canada and explores common misconceptions about this Indigenous population. Dr. Anderson's research investigates the complicated issues around Métis identity, including the increase of Métis self-identification in the Canadian census, and discusses implications for law, policy, and relationships with non-Indigenous Canadians.
